Menopause | Changing the Dialogue
Talks & Workshops

Women experiencing peri/menopause make up a significant

part of today's workforce.

They may be navigating changes to sleep, concentration, memory, confidence, mood and physical wellbeing while continuing to lead teams, meet deadlines, care for others and fulfil exactly the same professional responsibilities as before.

Often, nobody around them has any idea  of just

how much they're carrying.

Menopause in the Workplace is about changing that.

Through open, accessible and human conversation, these sessions help us to move beyond simply knowing what menopause is and towards understanding what the implications it can bring. life is a juggling act at times - throw in the menopause and it can be a whole new ball game!

Not Just for Women

If we want to create genuinely menopause-aware workplaces, everyone needs to be part of the conversation.

That includes women experiencing menopause, but also leaders, managers, colleagues and men who may have little understanding of what someone beside them is navigating.

And that understanding can reach far beyond the workplace.

'We', are husbands, wives, partners, parents, sons, daughters, friends and colleagues. The more openly we talk about menopause, the better equipped we become to recognise when somebody may be

struggling and respond with understanding rather than assumption.

Nobody needs to become a menopause expert.

Sometimes we simply need to understand enough to ask:

"Are you OK?"

And be prepared to listen to the answer.

Creating Understanding, Conversation & Empathy

A menopause policy can be an important starting point, but a policy alone doesn't create a culture in which someone feels comfortable saying:

"I just can't face it today"

These talks and workshops create space for honest conversation about the realities of peri/menopause, how it can affect working life, and the practical ways individuals and organisations can offer meaningful support.

Sessions can be adapted for whole organisations, leadership teams, managers, staff groups and community settings, with content shaped around the people taking part.

The aim of these sessions is simply to

Broaden understanding
Open up conversation around menopause
Develop empathy

Because when we understand a little more about what somebody else may be carrying,

we can begin to change the way we support them.

Support Beyond Hygg-Ed

Sometimes greater understanding also helps us recognise when we — or somebody we care about —

may need additional support.

Hygg-Ed compliments rather than replaces medical, psychological or other specialist services.

Contacts beyond Hygg-Ed brings together organisations and sources of further information, advice and support for those who may need something beyond what Hygg-Ed provides.
